BAR ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN FOR HOTELS, RESTAURANTS & SPORTS BARS

What’s the biggest problem owners and architects face for the design and construction of their bars? They lack a single-source resource for highly accurate construction drawings and details.  At Cabaret Design Group we specialize in bar architecture and design for complex, turnkey bar design solutions for hotels, restaurants and sports bars. Over the years, Cabaret Design Group has been recognized as one of very few bar design integrators. Until now, owners and their architects have been stuck without such a single-source provider for comprehensive, highly-detailed bar design.

HOW SHOULD BARS REALLY BE DESIGNED?

In most commercial applications, bar design is defined by a mere bar equipment plan furnished by a foodservice vendor. Bar equipment layouts are just the starting point. The interior designers don’t understand equipment or construction. The plans end up without section views, elevation views and details. They lack finish schedules, shop drawings and details of precisely how to build the bar and back bar. They also lack details about the draft beer system and infrastructure. In other words, no architectural bar design. The end result? The GC doesn’t have the plans needed to build the entire bar, and the owners experience sloppy bars and cost overruns.

Owners and architects realize that foodservice vendors don’t possess a command of engineering or architecture. Architects, interior designers and our engineering peers don’t understand bar design, either. Consequently, owners don’t have a thorough construction document for their bars – one that combines equipment, systems, finishes and a multitude of construction details. Given all this, where do owners turn for comprehensive bar design? We at Cabaret Design Group have just the solution…

INTEGRATED BAR DESIGN – THE TURNKEY SOLUTION

From the above, it’s obvious that there are very few resources available for those in need of bar architecture and design. At Cabaret Design Group, we address this need with our turnkey service we call “Integrated Bar Design.” We furnish the following details on nearly every project:

  • Architectural plans for construction
  • Bar equipment layout and equipment schedule
  • Steel structure design and detailing
  • Draft beer system design
  • Soda systems
  • Automated liquor dispensing
  • Walk-in cooler design
  • Keg room layouts
  • Architectural finishes

Cabaret Design Group’s integrated bar design service combines bar architecture, interior design and engineering (reference Figures 1-4 (above)). Thus, integrated bar design is true architectural engineering that provides single source accountability. Our service combines construction drawings and shop-level details for the front bar, back bar, bar equipment, keg room and bar finishes. Our clients enjoy the peace of mind of knowing that their bar design and all of its related components will be defined in our plans.

BAR DESIGN EXCELLENCE IS IN THE DETAILS

Quality is our hallmark, and this is born not only in our bar designs, but also in the details of our construction drawings. In terms of our design, it’s important to emphasize that our plans are a self-contained document that embody both construction drawings and shop-quality detailed drawings:

  • While construction drawings include plans, elevations, section views, details, schedules and specifications, they offer a holistic view of the entire project.
  • Our shop-quality detailed drawings focus on specific elements, such as steel, millwork, mechanical systems and other components. They include assembly details, material specifications and installation instructions.

Construction drawings provide a comprehensive overview, while shop-quality drawings offer detailed information about the fabrication and assembly of individual components or systems. Both are essential for the successful execution of a true architectural bar design project, which is why we include both. The photos shown in Figures 5-7 depict the end-result of the detailed shop-quality drawings we produce.

ZOOM MEETINGS FOR SUPERIOR BAR DESIGN

  • A more thorough understanding of available options
  • Enables clients to see what designing a bar is all about
  • Enhances timely decisions because the questions and answers are more spontaneous

The bottom line is, interactive design leads to superior results, and a more thorough client experience. That’s our promise to you! This video is an example of how our process works:
